Doug Robinson: Alema Harrington has found strength and his mission in helping other addicts

Alema Harrington, once a KSL-TV sports anchorman, has led a double life while battling drug addiction for decades. He lost almost everything. Now he is a licensed counselor for addicts by day while doing Jazz broadcasts by night.

“Going to church wasn’t enough for me. I needed to be around others who had the same disease.”

For many people Alema Harrington was the former BYU football player, or the son of a legendary Hawaiian athlete/TV actor, or the genial KSL-TV weekend sports anchor or the host of sports talk radio or the elder’s quorum president of his Mormon ward or a father and husband.
