Former Weber State basketball standout Damian Lillard is now gaining acclaim as a rapper, which is how he built friendships in college that still hold strong, even as he has risen to become one of the more recognizable faces in the NBA.
“When he sits down and he writes, it’s like poetry. All the stuff he went through in Oakland, all the ups and downs, like how he grew up in a tough environment. That’s how he let it out. He’s better than a lot of these people out there that do music videos and stuff.”
