On New Year’s Day, Jordan Clarkson finally broke the Utah Jazz triple-double curse. The Jazz had gone 5,801 days since their last regular-season triple-double.
Here are some interesting stats to highlight how ridiculous that drought was. Since Carlos Boozer’s triple-double in 2008,
- No other team had fewer than ten triple-doubles
- Russell Westbrook recorded 198 triple-doubles
- Over 160 different players recorded triple-doubles
- Royce O’Neale recorded his first career triple-double in his 16th game after being traded from the Jazz
- Ricky Rubio recorded five triple-doubles before joining the Jazz and two more after leaving the Jazz
Of course, triple-doubles don’t matter.
