In a game where both teams fought for one of the final playoff spots, the Dallas Wings (9-21) fell to the Washington Mystics (11-17) 88-83 Sunday at College Park Center.
Early in the first quarter, the Wings trailed behind the Mystics 13-6. Wings forward Aerial Powers subbed in with 3:50 remaining in the quarter and scored five quick points to cut the deficit to 13-11.
With 2:33 remaining in the quarter, Wings center Glory Johnson was helped off the floor after an apparent knee injury. After her departure, the Wings fell behind 18-13, but Powers helped pick up the slack.
