A hot offensive start couldn’t break the Dallas Wings' (9-16) six-game skid Friday night at McCamish Pavilion as they fell to the Atlanta Dream (18-8) 93-88.
Wings guard Skylar Diggins responded to a six-point performance on Wednesday with a 15-point first quarter on 5-6 shooting. As a team, the Wings shot 68.8 percent in the quarter and took a 28-25 lead after one.
Despite allowing the Dream to shoot 50 percent and being out-rebounded 25-14, the Wings finished the first half with a 52-50 lead, led by 19 first-half points by Diggins.
The Dream started the third quarter on a 19-5 run to take a 69-57 lead with 4:50 remaining in the third quarter.
