The UTA volleyball team’s season came to a close in the quarterfinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship on Tuesday in Vermillion, South Dakota.
The Mavericks fell to the University of South Dakota in five sets, bringing their 2019 campaign to a close with a 20-14 overall record.
Twice the Coyotes took a set lead in the match, and twice the Mavericks tied it back up. In the fifth set, however, South Dakota took the spoils and wrapped up the match with a 15-11 win.
South Dakota earned 65 kills to UTA’s 54 kills throughout the match, with the Coyotes registering a 0.
