The women’s basketball team (5-3) remained perfect at home after grinding out a 68-62 victory over Wright State University on Wednesday at College Park Center.
Wright State came out the gates with an eight-point lead over the Lady Mavericks early in the first quarter. After a fast break basket from junior forward Bre Wickware, UTA pulled away to close out the first period with a 17-16 lead.
The lead would not last long as UTA shot 33% from the field in the second quarter and went into halftime down 30-26.
