UTA volleyball takes home WAC postseason awards

UTA volleyball’s season success continues earning the team four major awards and five All-Conference honorees during Wednesday’s Western Athletic Conference postseason awards.

Head coach J.T. Wenger earned his first WAC Coach of the Year award in his eighth season with UTA. Under Wenger’s leadership, the Mavericks won over 20 games in the last two seasons, claimed their first regular-season conference title since 2002 and secured the team’s 11th overall undefeated run.

The program’s 17 wins also marks the longest victory streak in over 25 years.

Graduate outside hitter Brianna Ford took home Player of the Year; graduate setter Mollie Blank achieved Setter of the Year; and freshman outside hitter Sjakkie Donkers was named Co-Freshman of the Year.
