Western Athletic Conference champions, family, friends and UTA staff members packed a suite at College Park Center to learn who the volleyball team (29-2, 16-0) would face in its first NCAA tournament appearance in over 20 years.
With their full attention on the TV, the NCAA announced the matchup: UTA vs University of Southern California, No. 6 in the Penn State quarter of the bracket. When UTA popped up on the screen, the room erupted with cheers, claps and excitement.
