The UTA softball team fell to 15-13, 2-4 in Sun Belt Conference play, as the Mavericks were swept by No. 18 University of Louisiana-Lafayette in a three-game series Saturday and Sunday at Lamson Park.
Despite the sweep, UTA recorded two home runs from freshman infielders Whitney Walton and Aileen Garcia. Walton leads the team with six home runs.

In the first game, the Ragin’ Cajuns topped UTA with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh, leading them to victory.
The Mavericks took an early 2-0 lead when freshman catcher Reagan Wright shot a two-RBI double down the right field line.
