UTA Softball (24-20, 10-10) acquired its second consecutive series win by sweeping a doubleheader against Coastal Carolina University on Saturday at Allan Saxe Field.
“It’s just another step closer to what we really want, and I think it's another boost of confidence,” senior infielder Shelbi Sikes said. “Yes, these conference games matter and, yes, they place us in the tournament, but we want the tournament, that’s why we’re here to play.”
Game 1: UTA 4, Coastal Carolina 3
With zeros posted on the scoreboard for the first three innings, the Chanticleers broke the drought after a shot down the gap scored a runner from first, giving Coastal Carolina a 1-0 lead.
