In a battle of Metroplex foes, the UTA softball team's (17-16) rally fell short in a 3-2 loss to the University of North Texas Wednesday at Allan Saxe Field.
“Sometimes I don’t think they’re gritty all the time,” head coach Kristie Fox said. “But I do know one thing, that those kids love each other and they support each other and they’re ready to battle until the end, every time.”
As the intensity rose on the field and in the box, there were zeros across the scoreboard for the first four innings, but a big single in the fifth allowed North Texas to jump on top with a 1-0 lead.
