Freshman infielder Whitney Walton stood out during the weekend, hitting .625 against Troy. She went 5-8 with 4 RBIs in the series.
Game 1: UTA 4, Troy 3
Troy wasted no time scoring as senior utility Becca Hartley led off the game with a home run over center field. The Mavericks’ defense responded swiftly and recorded two consecutive shutdown innings until UTA got its bats going in the fourth.
