UTA Mavericks redeem themselves against Troy University

After dropping its last two games, the men’s basketball team (9-6, 1-2) returned home to defeat Troy University 86-76 on Thursday at College Park Center.

Five Mavericks scored in double digits. Senior guard Erick Neal led the way with 21 points, seven assists and three steals. Senior forward Kevin Hervey followed with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Senior guard Kaelon Wilson registered his first double-double of the season, collecting 16 points and 10 rebounds. Graduate student center Johnny Hamilton also contributed with 11 points, while junior guard Davion Turner chipped in 10.

Opening up the first half, the Trojans jumped ahead with a 14-5 run.
