UTA women’s basketball (4-5) sealed a hard-fought victory in a physical matchup against Florida International University (3-6) on Monday at College Park Center, 72-56.
Players battled for every possession and challenged both ends of the court in the Lady Mavericks’ second game of the Western Athletic Conference and Conference USA, a multi-year scheduling initiative where teams from the WAC and CUSA match up against one another.
After its first-half adjustments, UTA turned a corner and ran away with the game.
