A change in position and sport led Alex Ibarra to where he is today.
The Cedar Hill, Texas, native joined the UTA softball team as a student manager ahead of the 2019 season, bringing extensive experience as a high school baseball catcher and as a pitcher for the USA Softball Junior Men’s National Team.
Growing up, Ibarra tried all kinds of sports before gravitating toward baseball.
Baseball and softball were deeply ingrained into Ibarra from a young age, and he joined his first team at 12 years old.
As a high school freshman, Ibarra started pitching underhand, and by his senior year, he quit baseball to focus on softball.
