Last August, Jordan Durham, track and field assistant coach, told sophomore sprinter Deontre Haynes to write his goal and tape it to his ceiling, so it was the first thing he saw before he went to sleep.
"If you ever think of a goal and you want to reach it, you have to constantly think about it and constantly strive for it," Durham told Haynes.
The first thing Haynes did that night when he got home was tape a piece of paper to his ceiling that read "20-point 200m dash."
On Saturday, Haynes ran a personal best time of 20.
