A 10th-inning walk-off hit led the softball team (17-14, 3-5) to a split of its series-opening doubleheader against Georgia Southern University Saturday at Allan Saxe Field.
“We had a couple lacked innings in both games that hurt us, and we gotta be able to stop the bleeding quicker in those innings,” head coach Kristie Fox said. “As far as never quitting, I’m really proud of this bunch, and making sure we got the split today is huge.”
Georgia Southern 11, UTA 3 (5)
Georgia Southern started off the game by sending across two runs in the first inning.
