The softball team improved to 16-13 after claiming a 9-1 run-rule victory over Houston Baptist University Wednesday at Allan Saxe Field.
"They did a really great job at creating the atmosphere that we needed to be successful” head coach Kristie Fox said.
The Mavericks' offense took charge early in the game, scoring three runs off four hits in the first inning.
“Making sure that we got some runs right off the bat is something we talked about before the game,” Fox said. “For them to step up and get some two-out RBIs was huge.”
Although the team had energy on the field and at the plate, it showed in the dugout as well.
