Senior guard Erick Neal and forward Kevin Hervey combined for 52 points to lead the men’s basketball team to a 99-84 win over the University of Oklahoma in a charity scrimmage Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center. The scrimmage benefited the United Way Harvey Recovery Fund.
Hervey scored a team-high 27 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds. Neal added 25 points, dished a game-high 12 assists and picked up three steals.
The Sooners made seven free throws in the first 10 minutes of play to take an early 21-14 lead. UTA finished the half on an 11-1 run, capped off by a pair of 3-pointers from Hervey to take a 47-35 advantage.
