The volleyball team (12-14, 6-7) finished the weekend 1-1 against the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State University on Friday and Saturday at College Park Center.
Senior outside hitter Qiana Canete broke UTA's all-time kills record, which was previously held by volleyball alumna Caley Smith, in the match against Arkansas State.
Head coach J.T. Wenger said he and the team were proud of Canete’s achievement.
“This was a good performance, as they are every night for her,” Wenger said. “She shows up and puts up numbers, and that’s what we need for this program.”
Canete said she acknowledged the feat, but the game was still her main focus as she broke the kills record.
