At the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the men's team finished first to earn its second-ever triple crown, tallying 151 points, while the women's team took third place with 103 points Sunday at Maverick Stadium.

Freshman pole vaulter Helen Falda took first place in the women's pole vault after beating junior pole vaulter Madison Pecot in a jump off. Falda cleared a 13-7.75 (4.16 meters) twice, while Pecot topped the bar once in three attempts.
