The first road win of the season didn’t come easily for the men’s basketball team.
UTA (4-3) knocked off Fordham (5-2) 67-63 Saturday at Rose Hill Gym, to end the Rams 16-game non-conference winning streak at home.
Senior guard Drew Charles led the Mavericks in the first half with 15 points off five 3-pointers to give UTA a 29-27 lead at half. As a team, the Mavericks shot 52.4 percent from the field and hit 42.9 percent of their 3-point attempts.
UTA fell behind by eight in the second half with 12:41 remaining, but used a 9-0 one to go in front 45-44 and get right back into the game.
