For the fourth time this season, senior forward Marie Benson has earned the honor of Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
A major force in UTA’s two wins over the Louisiana schools this week, Benson averaged 24 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. She leads the conference in points per game, averaging 18.4 points in 17 appearances for the Lady Mavericks.
Her performances this year, which includes three double-double showings, have helped UTA start its league season 5-1, level with Coastal Carolina University and Troy University. Her previous three awards came on Nov. 26, Dec.
