A two-run eighth inning by the University of Louisiana at Monroe prevented the baseball team (13-12, 6-3) from completing a series sweep Saturday afternoon at Clay Gould Ballpark.
The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks defeated the UTA Mavericks 2-0 to snap UTA's seven-game win streak on home soil.
Head coach Darin Thomas said at this point in the season, mental fatigue plays more of role than physical fatigue.
“We’re always on them about 'be ready, be ready, have a little more energy, need a little more,'" Thomas said. "I thought our energy was fine today we just didn’t execute, we didn’t perform at the plate.
