UTA (10-11, 5-6) faces a quick turnaround, heading to San Marcos to play Texas State (10-11, 5-6) at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The Bobcats lost their last three games, but they are a different team on their home floor with a 7-1 record at Strahan Coliseum.
UTA head coach Krista Gerlich said despite their overall record, it will be a hard fought game.
“They’ll be ready to play, and you know that’s the in-state rivalry,” Gerlich said. “I think it’ll have a lot of energy, and it’ll be a fun atmosphere.”
Texas State plays a different brand of basketball, putting a lot of points on the board and trying to outscore its opponent rather than stop them on the defensive end, so it ranks near the bottom in most defensive categories.
