The women's basketball team (13-13, 8-8) couldn’t end the Little Rock Trojans' (15-11, 13-4) 10-game win streak in a 49-43 loss.
The Lady Mavericks actually shot better from the field than the Trojans, but when they had ball they weren’t getting shots up as they had 24 turnovers and allowed 22 points off those turnovers.
“They play great defense and are very physical,” head coach Krista Gerlich said to www.utamavs.com. “We have to handle it better and take care of the ball.”
Sophomore center Rebekah VanDijk played only 27 minutes as she got into foul trouble early.
