Nearly 12 months removed from an ACL tear in her left knee, Cierra Johnson is back on track and back in action.
Last fall, Johnson spent what was supposed to be her senior season on the sidelines. Now she is returning to the women’s basketball team for a fifth season after being granted a medical redshirt because of her knee injury.
Head coach Krista Gerlich described having Johnson back for another season as a “blessing in the tragedy.” Gerlich wants Johnson to use the experience she has gained over the last four years to teach some of the younger players on the team.
