For the first time in his career, junior Justin Domangue was named Sun Belt Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday.
The award comes after his performance at the Joe Piane Invitational, where he led the Mavericks with a top-20 finish, completing the five-mile race in 24:22.
The meet was Domangue’s third competition of the season after he was rested at the first meet, then running unattached at the Gerald Richey and Ken Garland invitationals.
Domangue finished second overall in the home meet, behind senior Michael Guerrero, with a 15:31 time. At the Ken Garland Invitational, he finished third overall with a 19:21 time in the four-mile race.
