On an electric Friday night in October 2010, broadcaster Eric Nadel called what would be the most memorable strikeout in Texas Rangers history.
“Strike three called — the Rangers are going to the World Series!”
That moment: The way Neftali Feliz froze Alex Rodriguez with an 83 mph breaking ball. The way catcher Bengie Molina sprinted toward the mound and embraced Feliz. The way Globe Life Park erupted in celebration after the Rangers defeated the New York Yankees to capture the American League pennant.
That moment brought the city of Arlington together in 2010, and it did so again Sunday afternoon as the Rangers, along with 47,144 fans, crowded Globe Life Park for the last time before the team switches over to the air-conditioned Globe Life Field next year.
