UTA (12-13, 3-3 Sun Belt) allowed five hits and four runs in the eighth inning, losing to Sun Belt Conference foe Georgia Southern University 9-5 Sunday at Clay Gould Ballpark.
"Disappointing," head coach Darin Thomas said. "I was happy with how we came back after the first, just didn't finish the deal at the end."
UTA fell into a 5-0 hole in the first inning after a fielding error, setting off an offensive outburst from Georgia Southern.
"You're not always going to have your best game," junior pitcher Daniel James said. "You just kind of have to work with what you have.
