The UTA baseball team’s (30-28, 15-15 Sun Belt) run fell short in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Baseball Championship with a 3-0 loss to South Alabama (40-20, 21-9) at Bobcat Ballpark on May 27.
After a four game losing streak, the Mavericks finished their season winning six of their last eight games.
Five seniors played their last game at Clay Gould Ballpark May 21 in a 6-2 loss to Texas State.
“I’m never going to step back on this field to lace up my cleats,” senior second baseman Darien McLemore said. “I’m really putting my heart out there for the rest of the seniors and for the rest of the team like I always do.
