Three Mavericks punched their ticket to the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Distance runner Craig Lautenslager, hurdler Emeka Nwangwu and pole vaulter Helen Falda will compete Wednesday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
“It’s the ultimate goal for most of these athletes just to make it to the national meet and then to be an All-American or a national champion,” head coach John Sauerhage said. “To be an All-American or a national champion, it starts with making it to the NCAA Championships, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
