Three UTA track and field athletes made their first-ever appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 7-10 in Eugene, Oregon.
Distance runner Craig Lautenslager, junior hurdler Emeka Nwangwu and freshman pole vaulter Helen Falda were recognized Monday as All-Americans for the 2017 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
“We were very pleased,” head coach John Sauerhage said. “All three of them had different levels of expectations, and all three of them met them.”
Following his final race as a Maverick, Lautenslager was recognized as a second-team All-American.
