Daniels now figures to be the leader in the quarterback competition to replace Sam Darnold, who is expected to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft and be a top pick.
In his recruitment, Daniels picked the Trojans over Michigan, Stanford, and Washington, but the Trojans were always the favorite to land him.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder was ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 2 player in the state of California in the 2019 class, according to 247sports' Composite Rankings. He's now the No. 2 pro-style quarterback and No. 21 overall player in the 2018 class.
