LOS ANGELES – USC has two regular-season games remaining in 2015. They could be the Trojans’ last under interim coach Clay Helton – or the launching point for the Helton era.
How USC fares in these final two games – at Oregon on Saturday and vs. UCLA the next Saturday – could determine whether Helton remains coach or whether Athletic Director Pat Haden goes in a wholly different direction.
Haden declined to discuss the situation through a school spokesman, who cited a long-standing policy of not commenting on coaching searches. But the Register reached out to three college football analysts with Pac-12 ties who had plenty to say on the subject: former UCLA quarterback and coach Rick Neuheisel, who’s with CBS; former USC running back Petros Papadakis, who’s with Fox; and former Washington quarterback Brock Huard, who’s with ESPN.
