LOS ANGELES >> USC and Washington are engaged in a bidding war for Trojans basketball assistant coach Jason Hart.
New Washington coach Mike Hopkins offered Hart a job last weekend. USC responded by offering Hart a two-year contract worth more than $280,000, according to an athletic department official who did not wish to be identified.
Washington is expected to make a counteroffer.
There were reports in Seattle that Hart accepted Hopkins’ offer, but sources at USC said no decision has been made and USC coach Andy Enfield and athletic director Lynn Swann are lobbying him to stay.
