Viane Talamaivao Shut Down for USC Spring Camp After Elbow Surgery

Incumbent right guard Viane Talamaivao injured his elbow during USC football’s third week of spring practice, one of a handful of nicks that forced the postponement of a full-contact scrimmage.

Tuesday after Day 10 of camp, head coach Clay Helton informed the media Talamaivao had surgery to repair a partially torn bicep and will be out until fall camp. As of now, there is no fear of him missing the September 2 season opener against Western Michigan.

“He should be ready in the early part of the training camp,” Helton said. “He should be ready for Game 1, but he’s going to require some rehab.
