LOS ANGELES – The roles and narratives have flipped all about, almost like pages on a calendar.
When USC played Stanford in September, both teams were in different places. Stanford was two weeks removed from an embarrassing loss to Northwestern, while USC was ranked No. 6 in the country.
Stanford won that game by 10 points, and by late October, the Cardinal had creeped back into the national top 10 while the Trojans were regrouping after a midseason coaching change.
Now, both teams are exactly where they want to be.
