USC athletic director Pat Haden remained hospitalized in stable condition Wednesday evening, hours after an on-campus incident in which he apparently felt lightheaded while walking and required medical attention.
Haden, 63, announced last week that he would retire at the end of June, and Haden’s health has been an increasingly large concern in recent months.
Haden was “alert and talking” throughout the episode, a USC spokesman said. An early-evening update from the school said Haden was “resting comfortably” at a hospital and undergoing tests.
Shortly thereafter, a post on Haden’s verified Twitter account said, “Thanks for all the good wishes” and said he hoped to go home soon.
