The good thing about playing Idaho in your second game is that there’s no reason to look past your first game.
Whether you took Arkansas State seriously or not, the fact was that USC did. Or least took Saturday night as a serious chance to put F. Fight On to rest and hit somebody in a different uniform, even though that somebody was usually smaller.
There were two questions leading into what becmae a 55-6 USC victory. Could the Trojans run? Could their defense hold up? Conclusions are cheap in early September, but the Trojans gave no reason to think they couldn’t do either.
