USC quarterback Sam Darnold threw 16 touchdown passes in October. Five of them landed in the hands of tight ends.
As the Trojans defeated California, 45-24, on Thursday night, Darnold found Daniel Imatorbhebhe in the end zone for a third straight game.
Late in the third quarter, the redshirt freshman floated a 17-yard touchdown toss to Imatorbhebhe, who was running a seam route along the left hashmarks and striding five yards ahead of the nearest defender.
As Imatorbhebhe has three touchdowns in the last three games, sophomore tight end Tyler Petite also hauled in two.
Asked about their involvement, Coach Clay Helton credited his staff, pointing to offensive coordinator Tee Martin and passing game coordinator Tyson Helton.
