LOS ANGELES – Football coaches scrawling plays on napkins while on family fishing vacations sounds like, well, a fish story. Except that in the case of the coaches Helton – father Kim and sons Clay and Tyson – it’s the absolute truth.
“It’s definitely true,” Kim Helton said. “You can always count on this: If Clay says it, it’s true. He doesn’t know how to fib.”
What everyone associated with USC football has learned about Clay Helton during his six seasons with the program – and especially during his second stint as interim coach – is that he’s a man of integrity.
