Los Angeles – Drake Stadium has kept some pretty fast company over the years.
Olympic champions and world-record holders have scorched its straight stretches for decades. Olympic champions Maurice Greene and Mike Marsh and Ato Boldon, a three-time Olympic medalist, have called the stadium home.
No one, however, has blazed 100 meters at Drake faster than USC’s Andre De Grasse.
De Grasse, the 20-year-old junior from suburban Toronto, blasted a 9.97-second clocking at the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday, shattering James Sanford of USC’s 35-year-old stadium record.
