Sophomore quarterback Kedon Slovis passed for 325 yards and a single touchdown and running back Vavae Malepeai scored a rushing touchdown with 33 seconds remaining to help outlast the Arizona Wildcats in a back-and-forth 34-30 contest on Saturday afternoon in Tucson.
It wasn’t a particularly clean performance by the Trojans as announcers commented throughout the night on how the offense seemed to struggle to find a groove all game long. Slovis still finished with 30 completions on 43 pass attempts and the running game provided plenty of sparks as Stephen Carr and Markese Stepp both rushed for over 80 yards and a score.
