USC plays Stanford on Saturday night at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and even the Trojans admitted some surprise at the thought of a four-loss team being one game away from the Rose Bowl.
“It does seem a little weird,” defensive end Greg Townsend said. “But we know we had a couple games where we didn’t play Trojan football.”
The Trojans feel everything changed since Clay Helton took over as interim coach, although two of their four losses occurred under him.
“It was murky at the beginning of the season to see where we would get to,” tailback Justin Davis said.
