USC stops Stanford, wins 2017 Pac-12 Championship Game

For the second time this season, USC beat Stanford at their own game. This time, it won the Trojans their first Pac-12 Championship since 2008.

The first meeting was all about efficiency and production, with USC dominating up front, dropping 42 points and over 600 yards of total offense. Friday night at Levi’s Stadium was about timeliness.

When Stanford had a chance to take a lead midway through the fourth quarter, USC stopped them on seven-straight plays after getting down to the 3-yard line.

They did it mano a mano against the Cardinal’s big bodied short yardage package, and responded with a 99-yard touchdown drive to go up double-digits.
