USC, Stanford to clash over who runs the show in Pac-12 title game

/ STAFF WRITER

Welcome, everyone, to the 1968 Pac-12 Conference championship game.

Of course, a conference title game didn’t exist then, the league had only eight teams and some of the current coaches hadn’t been born. The style, however, will very much be alive Saturday in Santa Clara.

It’s USC and Stanford for the Pac-12 title and a spot in the Rose Bowl, and those who like to see the ball in the air might want to grab one and toss it around the backyard before the game. In a conference full of pass-happy spread offenses, these two teams want to play the game on a treadmill.
