USC snaps three-game basketball losing streak with victory over Oregon State

USC finally resembled the team Wednesday night that caught many observers by surprise this season.

After a three-week hiatus, the Trojans rediscovered themselves with an 81-70 victory over Oregon State before 4,588 at the Galen Center.

“We were having fun,” USC guard Julian Jacobs said. “Guys were laughing, smiling and having a ball.”

That was hardly evident as USC lost five of its previous six games entering Wednesday’s contest. The Trojans had not scored 80 points for nearly a month when they defeated UCLA, 80-61.

“February for us wasn’t any good,” USC forward Nikola Jovanovic said.
