LOS ANGELES – After two down seasons under Andy Enfield and a half-decade-long absence from the NCAA Tournament, USC is finally dancing again in March.
USC, the No.8 seed, will face Providence, the No.9 seed, in Raleigh, N.C., in Thursday’s Round of 64 at a time to be determined. Awaiting the winner is a brutal matchup with the East Region’s top overall seed, North Carolina (28-6).
The Trojans’ tournament at-large berth is their first NCAA appearance since 2011. That season, USC narrowly made the field and lost in the First Four to VCU, which went on an underdog run all the way to the Final Four.
